• Account Data: Name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), profile picture, and timezone.
• Health & Medication Data: Medicine names, types, dosages, frequencies, reminder times, and intake history (date, time, and status).
• Family Group Data: Group membership, group codes, member relationships, and shared medication intake records.
• Device Data: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification tokens and device timezone.
• Camera & Photos: Camera access is used solely for QR code scanning. Images are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide medication tracking and send scheduled reminders.
• Deliver push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Enable family group medication monitoring so members can view shared intake status.
• Synchronize your data across sessions using an offline-first approach with server sync.
• Authenticate your account and maintain session security.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

• Family Groups: When you join a family group, your medication names and intake status are shared with other members of that group. You must explicitly join a group for any sharing to occur.
• Third-Party Services: We use Firebase for push notifications and app infrastructure, and Google ML Kit for on-device QR code scanning. These services process data as described in their own privacy policies.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Local Storage: Data is cached on your device using Hive for offline access.
• Server Storage: Data is stored on our backend servers and transmitted over HTTPS.
• Authentication: Sessions are secured using bearer token authentication with refresh tokens.
• Logout: All tokens and cached credentials are cleared from your device when you log out.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your account and associated data.
• Leave any family group at any time.
• Revoke camera or notification permissions through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

MedTrac is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will notify you through the app or via email. The updated policy will be effective as of the date posted at the top of this page.
